Acid replacement solutions for Agriculture

Lowers pH of chemical spray solutions

Certain pesticides, insecticides and herbicides perform best in slightly acidic water with a pH 4 – 6.5.

When the pH of the herbicide spray solution is outside this desired range, the performance of the pesticide will be compromised.  Some herbicides fall out of solution in high pH solutions, some become more volatile in low pH solutions. It is important to always read the label for proper pH ranges suggest by the manufacturer.

The pH of the spray solution can also influence how long the herbicide molecule stays intact. If the pH is higher or lower than optimal, the herbicide may be hydrolyzed and degraded.

Acid replacement technology can lower pH in spray solutions.

Cleaning spray tank systems

Acid replacement technology combined with a special non-foaming surfactant removes organic deposits and cleans spray tanks contaminated with calcium, rust, and bicarbonate deposits. It is excellent at removing scale, metal oxide, lime and mineral buildup which can clog droppers and emitters and nozzles. ALWAYS Clean the tank system between pesticide changeovers . Even trace amounts of unwanted herbicide can kill crops.

Pesticides, when introduced into water may react depending on the hardness of the water. Cations (+) and anions (-) are similar to magnets. Hard water typically has a positive charge so if a pesticide is an anion or has a negative charge they will bind together and will not separate once applied to the pest in question. This reduces the effectiveness of the product. Glyphosate is extremely sensitive to high pH water. Manufacturers usually suggest optimal pH ranges on the product label. Acid replacement technology can effectively reduce pH in pesticide spray solutions.
